McGRATHPR.com – Looking for ways to help?  Now’s your chance!  The James Library & Center for the Arts, a historic community arts center and lending library for the South Shore, seeks gracious hosts and guests for its Spring Pop-Up Party initiative, aspiring to 15 individual homes hosting private or open-to-the-public events to benefit The James’ Annual Fund, raising funds to offset critical annual operating expenses for the non-profit organization.

Love to host a dinner party, afternoon tea, family friendly Olympics, garden brunch party or craft night?  Be creative! You pick the theme, a May or June date, the guest list and the location (even at The James!), and we’ll help with planning, invitations, ideas and encouragement.  Prefer to co-host?  Partner with a friend!  Hosts are encouraged to plan an event within their comfort zone, whether casual or elegant.  Request that guests donate a suggested $50, more or less if you’re so inclined, to attend your event, and you’ll help raise important funds to help The James finish its fiscal year strong (ending on June 30) and support its Annual Fund.

“The James’ Annual Fund turns on the lights, pays the staff and heats the building,” shares Executive Director Megan Ward.  “Nearly 75 percent of our annual budget is sourced from donor gifts from individuals, families, and businesses. We’re grateful for the community support to provide the amazing, affordable programs and community space for all to enjoy.”  The initiative has a fundraising goal of $10,000 to be raised by fiscal year end.  All proceeds raised will directly support the James’ operating expenses.
