McGRATHPR.com – Tickets are now on sale for The Company Theatre’s 2019 Special Events Series, featuring an eclectic lineup of performances, providing the best in music, dance and family entertainment.  All events are held at The Company Theatre Center for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.

Moulin Rouge Movie – Saturday, January 5, 7:30 pm, admission is $6

It’s romantic Paris in 1899, and a young English poet (Ewan McGregor) has become infatuated with Satine (Nicole Kidman), the alluring and talented star of the Moulin Rouge… but she holds a fatal secret. In this interactive movie event, immerse yourself in a night of forbidden romance, visual excitement, and memorable Top 40 music. Your gift is your song, so come give it all you’ve got at the Moulin Rouge!

The Who Show Tribute Band – Saturday, January 12, 4 pm and 8 pm, admission is $30

Long live classic rock! The Who Show recreates the power and fury of a Who concert experience, complete with authentic ’70’s costumes and vintage instruments. Rock out to the hits, including “Pinball Wizard”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and “My Generation”.  “The most believable Who tribute band in the world!” VH1

40th Anniversary Musical Revue – Friday, February 1, 7:30 pm; Saturday, February 2, 4 pm, admission is $50

The Company Theatre celebrates its 40th Anniversary Season with a memorable revue, spanning four decades of outstanding musical theatre. This rare, can’t miss event features beloved and exciting Broadway showstoppers and performances by a large cast of Company alums.  Proceeds benefit The Company Theatre Legacy Fund.

The Dinosaur Quest of Dr. T-Rex! – Wednesday, February 20, 1 pm and 4 pm, admission is $18 kids, $22 adults

“Prehysterical” family fun abounds during school vacation week with The Dinosaur Quest of Dr. T-Rex!! Join well-versed, one of a kind paleontologist Dr. T-Rex as he incorporates six large, highly realistic and life-like dinosaur puppets into a delightfully funny and educational show.  Filled with audience participation, the unexpected, and lots of prehistoric mischief and mayhem, perfect for anyone who loves dinosaurs.

Mutts Gone Nutts! – Thursday, February 21, 1 pm and 4 pm, Friday, February 22, 1 pm, admission is $20 kids, $24 adults

Come to the ‘Canine Cabaret’ with Mutts Gone Nutts, a hilarious pack of talented rescue dogs led by Scott and Joan Houghton.  This training team has created a professional dog thrill show like no other. Meet incredible high flying frisbee dogs, tight wire dogs, the one and only Sammie the Talking Dog, and Geronimo, a Guinness world record holder!  Photos may be taken after the performance with the furry stars for a cash donation to Scituate Animal Shelter.

Late Night Catechism 2: Sister Strikes Again – Saturday, February 23, 4 and 7:30 pm; Saturday, February 24, 3 pm, admission is $30

Sister is BACK, and it’s up to her to save the souls of those assembled – aka the audience! Beginning with an overview of heaven and hell as a Catholic version of Chutes and Ladders and moving onto her proclamation of new sins for the new millennium, Sister is never hesitant to tell us where we’ve gone wrong. (Needless to say, excessive tattooing and piercing are right up there with pornographic websites and dining at Hooters.) And never doubt that Sister can provide a list of every celebrity currently sharing digs with the devil. Sing-along The Sound of Music– Saturday, April 6, 7:30 pm, admission is $10

The hills are alive! Calling all nuns, goat herders, baronesses, and kids wearing drapes: this event is destined to be one of your favorite things! Get ready to yodel because this is your chance to singalong to the most successful movie of all time, The Sound of Music. This is not just an opportunity to see the classic movie on the big screen; it’s a major audience participation event with subtitles for all the songs and a costume contest!

ABBAMania! –  Saturday, May 4, 4 pm and 8 pm, admission is $30

ABBAMania!, hailed as the world’s number one tribute production, features a special concert presentation, reviving memories of when ABBA ruled the airwaves. If you’re looking for an excuse to party, reminisce, or simply be entertained by the best music ever, then this is for you!  Dig out those platforms, dust off those flares, and enjoy all of your favorites including: “Mamma Mia”, “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and many more!

Memories of The Rat Pack – Saturday, May 11, 4 pm and 8 pm, admission is $35

Memories of The Rat Pack is a celebration of the lives and music of its three most famous members: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. In a recreation of the famous nightclub act at The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, we learn about the men behind the legend and enjoy 30 of their more popular songs including “The Lady Is A Tramp”, “Luck Be A Lady”, “That’s Amore”, and “New York, New York”.

Cast of BeatleMania! – Saturday, June 1, 4 pm and 8 pm, admission is $35

Experience The Beatles – LIVE – as four supremely talented musicians channel John, Paul, George and Ringo in a note-for-note performance that has thrilled audiences across the country and around the world. This one of a kind tribute traces the musical journey of the Fab Four from their humble beginnings at the Cavern Club to the British Invasion and the Ed Sullivan Show. Enjoy the iconic music of the Beatles from their Sgt. Pepper Era to Abbey Road.  Favorites include: “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “HELP!”, “Hard Day’s Night”, “Yesterday”, “Strawberry Fields”, and “All You Need Is Love”.

Divas with a Twist – Tuesday, June 4, 7:30 pm, admission is $25

A unique group comprised of five powerhouse female vocalists, backed by Grammy® nominated musicians, Divas with a Twist is not your average cover band!  Unique twists on original cover songs rule the stage with dynamic harmonies and fresh new arrangements of pop, rock, jazz, country and their very own original songs. Enjoy energetic songs by Aretha Franklin, Adele, Michael Jackson, The Doobie Brothers, The Who, The Bangles, Bruno Mars and more!

Annie Sing-along – Saturday, September 14, 4 pm, admission is $10

At last this is your opportunity to sing along with America’s favorite orphan! The award winning 1982 film captures the heart of the Broadway musical and features an all-star cast, including Carol Burnett as the wickedly funny orphanage director Miss Hannigan. Grab a pail, dress up as your favorite character, and get ready to sing “the sun will come out tomorrow…”

Wizard Academy with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – Saturday, October 26, 2 pm, admission is $30

Congratulations! You’ve just received your letter of acceptance! Experience your first day of Wizard School – get sorted, compete for house points, practice spells in the woods, take classes, drink butterbeer, and so much more. The festivities will conclude with a viewing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the theatre, general admission seating. Wear your uniform or wizard robe, wands are optional. Ages 7 and up, accompanying adult admission free.

The Muppet Christmas Carol – Saturday, November 16, 4 pm, admission is $10

Take Dickens’ beloved Christmas tale, the genius of Jim Henson, a host of catchy songs, and combine them into a holiday extravaganza to make The Muppet Christmas Carol.  Join Gonzo as Charles Dickens, Kermit and Miss Piggy as the Cratchits, and Michael Caine as the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who one Christmas Eve is visited by three ghosts urging him to change his cruel ways. With a touch of Christmas magic and a touch of snow, this event will be a delight for the whole family!

Happy Holiday with the Divas – Tuesday, December 10, 7:30 pm, admission is $25

Divas with a Twist returns to present classic holiday songs and fresh new arrangements of cover songs with dynamic harmonies of pop, rock, jazz, country and Broadway.  Get in the holiday spirit with selections including “Drummer Boy”, “Do You Hear What I Hear”, “O Holy Night”, “Run Run Rudolph” and a beautiful acapella version of “Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas”.

The Company Theatre’s Special Events Series tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or at the box office at 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.  The box office is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 5 pm, and during all performances.
