Community to celebrate diverse gallery featuring the region’s talented artists

McGRATHPR.com – Hull Artists, a regional arts association of more than 80 fine artists and craft artisans celebrating more than 23 years on the South Shore, announces a Grand Reopening of its Gallery Nantasket, on Friday, October 19, from 6 to 8 pm, on the ground floor of Ocean Place Condominiums, 121 Nantasket Avenue, Hull, adjacent to Nantasket Beach.  The reception is free and open to the public with light fare and refreshments being served.  The gallery’s collection of fine art, artisan crafts and unique gifts will be on display and available for purchase.

The public is invited to Gallery Nantasket’s Grand Reopening to “meet and greet” Hull Artists’ and enjoy their creative works on display and for sale in the gallery.  The association rotates its gallery exhibits quarterly, so that visitors can enjoy the artists’ full range of creativity through a variety of mediums and styles, many of which are inspired by the land and seascapes of the beautiful seaside community.

Bart Blumberg, a gallery artist and Hull Artists President, is inspired by the organization’s mission. “Gallery Nantasket is an important program helping Hull Artists carry out its mission of promoting arts and culture for the betterment of the region’s artists, visitors, businesses and residents.  We are excited about the grand reopening of the gallery and its role in generating increased interest and enthusiasm for local arts, which can contribute to a greater sense of community wellbeing and economic development.”

Founded in 1995, Hull Artists (HA) has owned and operated Gallery Nantasket at its present location since 2014.  Under HA’s current leadership, the association has reorganized member benefits to better serve its artists and the community’s needs through its retail gallery as a source of exceptional fine art and artisan crafts.  The gallery exhibits a full range of fine art works, including painting media (oil, acrylic, watercolor), pastels, pencil drawings, photography, as well as artisan-crafted jewelry, fabric arts, clothing, wreaths, baskets, pottery, cards and more.  The artists express their creativity through a variety of materials, including leather, fiber, wood, metal, canvas, glass, clay, paper and shells.  Visitors are always greeted by an exhibiting artist at the gallery desk, HA members who are well versed in each exhibitor’s work, as well as their own art on display.

Hull Artists exhibits at several other venues, currently including Nantasket Beach Resort’s “Gallery Wall,” the “Paragon Gallery” at Hull Town Hall, Weinberg’s Coffee House, and Simply Smith’s Restaurant in Cohasset.  “Hull Artists’ other venues exhibit wall art such as photography, painting and pastels.  As a craft-artisan, I really appreciate that Gallery Nantasket offers an opportunity for our members to display and sell artisan crafts, including jewelry, that is artfully represented here,” shared Terry McMahon, longtime HA member.

For the past 22 years, Hull Artists members have opened their homes and studios to the public for the Open Studios Tour, HA’s signature event, attracting thousands of visitors from around the region.  This year’s event featured nearly 40 artists at 25 venues.

Hull Artists is dedicated to promoting and supporting the locally produced fine art and artisan crafts of its members. Collectively, HA members are inspired by the slender seaside peninsula that the organization calls home.  HA produces exhibits and other events, and offers workshops in a wide array of creative disciplines.
