McGRATHPR.com – The award-winning Company Theatre presents the original British farce-style play LOOT, from October 5 through 21 at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.  LOOT is written by Joe Orton and directed by Peter A. Carey.

Like a good British farce? You’ll love LOOT! Written in the 1960s by Joe Orton, the play was censored before its debut in the West End, but has made a recent comeback in all its glory! Two young friends, Hal and Dennis, rob a bank next to a funeral parlor… and what safer place to hide the money than in the coffin of Hal’s recently deceased Mum? But with the coffin full up, there’s no room for Mum, whose body keeps reappearing at the most inopportune times, especially when the Inspector comes calling. The games begin as a series of strange, surprising, and sexy entanglements arise.  What the reviewers are saying: “Sure to please anyone who loves black comedy.” “A comic time bomb.” “Loot is a hoot!”

Tickets for LOOT range from $27 to $29.  Show times are 7:30 pm on Thursday, 8 pm Friday through Saturday, with Sunday performances at 3 pm. Family and Friends Fridays offers the limited quantity purchase of four or more tickets for Friday performances at $24 per ticket by calling or visiting the box office in person only.  For a complete performance schedule or to order tickets, please visit www.companytheatre.com.
