Free fun with arts workshops, activities, food trucks and more
The Academy of the Company Theatre (A.C.T.) presents A.C.T. Family Fun Day from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, August 18 at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. The free event is open to the public, held outdoors in the lot at the rear of the building, with workshops held inside. In case of inclement weather, all activities will be held indoors.
A.C.T. Family Fun Day provides families with some free summer fun in the arts! Activities include performances by the casts of A.C.T.’s recent CATS and Rocky Horror Show productions, games, crafts, a bouncy house, food trucks, theatre tours, and the opportunity to meet and greet with A.C.T. staff and teachers.
Live registration and details for all A.C.T. fall youth and adult small group performing arts classes will be available on site, now open for enrollment. Classes begin the week of September 10 and run through December 15. All students have the opportunity to participate in performances and demonstrations at A.C.T. Open Studios in December.
Actors are invited to get the inside scoop on standing out at auditions with one-hour Audition Workshops with Company Theatre teaching artists/directors. The Teen/Adult Audition Workshop with Danny Bolton (Award winning professional actor, member: Actor’s Equity Association) will be held at 11 am, and a Children’s Audition Workshop with Kevin Mark Kline and Melissa Carubia (A.C.T. Directors) will be held at 1 pm. These workshops can inspire actors with new skills for all of their audition opportunities, including The Company Theatre’s upcoming productions of Mulan, Jr., Oliver, and A.C.T. teen productions. Admission to each workshop is $20 per person, or two for $30 for families with multiple participants, payable on site. Advance registration is not required.
