SSC’s Summer Spotlight Concerts Heat Up Mid-Summer Entertainment

McGRATHPR.com – Summer entertainment heat continues to soar with South Shore Conservatory’s popular outdoor concert series Summer Spotlight, with four spectacular performances remaining for the 2018 season.  Now in its 22nd  year, the series features Evenings Under the Stars (EUS) Saturday evening concerts, and much-loved Wacky Wednesdays family concerts. All performances take place in the Jane Carr Amphitheater at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.

Next up tomorrow, and back by popular demand, some of Berklee College of Music’s best and brightest musicians perform Saturday, July 21, under the leadership of Professor Matt Jenson, rock the stage with the Berklee Bob Marley Ensemble.  The following Saturday, on July 28James Montgomery Band wraps up the series with its incredibly energetic blues show.  After 30 years, it is still one of the hottest acts in Boston.

Preconcert receptions allow EUS concertgoers to relax with a glass of wine and light appetizers, converse with other music lovers, and find out a little bit about each performance ahead of time.

Wacky Wednesdays family concerts, sponsored by the The Harold and Avis Goldstein Trust, continue when Debbie and Friends bring their brand of fun, energetic and interactive pop music for elementary students to the stage on July 25.  SSC’s ImagineARTS band takes the stage on August 1, playing favorite tunes such as See How I’m Jumping and Funga Alafia, concluding with a special presentation of the popular children’s story Pete the Cat and the New Guy.

All concerts take place in the Jane Carr Amphitheater, One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. New this year, food trucks will be on site for all performances.  Evenings Under the Stars Saturday evening concerts start at 7 pmWacky Wednesdays family concerts start at 10 am.  Parking for Wednesday morning concerts is onsite for everyone.  Although limited onsite parking is available for handicapped patrons, parking for Saturday night concerts for the public is at the Hingham School Bus Depot.

Tickets for Evenings Under the Stars performances purchased before the day of the concert are $40 for pavilion and $25 for lawn seating. Evenings Under the Stars tickets purchased at the door are $45 for pavilion seating and $30 for the lawn. Preconcert reception tickets are $25. Season subscriptions to the four Saturday evening concerts are available for $240 for pavilion and $180 for lawn seating and include the pre-concert receptions. There is no charge for children two and under.

Tickets for Wacky Wednesdays family concerts are $15 adult and $5 children.
