New Campus to Open Summer of 2020 at 135 Webster Street
McGRATHPR.com – South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announced today the purchase of a new property at 135 Webster Street in Hanover to be developed as the organization’s third campus. The 7,000-square foot mixed-use space seeks to expand SSC programs and offerings beyond their more than 4,000 current students in campuses in Hingham and Duxbury, as well as through partnerships in communities throughout the South Shore.
“The vibrant community on the South Shore has filled SSC classrooms with music and joy for over 45 years. It’s a testament to that support that we now are growing beyond our current spaces,” said Kathy O. Czerny, SSC’s President. “We are so excited to have the opportunity to establish a new campus in Hanover enabling us to extend our reach and spread music education, performance, and enjoyment across the region.”
The new property will be retrofitted by summer of 2020 to house multi-use classrooms, a state-of-the-art Creative Arts Therapy Center, and administrative offices. Additionally, SSC plans to construct a new multi-purpose, 250-seat performance space beyond the property’s current footprint.
“This new center allows us to expand our critical offerings for a growing community of creative arts therapies students, ensuring that music, creative movement, and art experiences are accessible to every resident of the South Shore,” said Eve Montague, Director of Creative Arts Therapies at South Shore Conservatory.
SSC moved most of its administrative offices to the new Hanover campus in January, 2018. Construction to redesign the spaces is slated to begin in 2019 with an anticipated public opening in the summer of 2020.
“It takes a village to make a dream like this a reality,” Czerny said. “We will be reaching out to members of the community to join us in creating this exciting new music and arts center for the South Shore.”
