The Company Theatre’s Summer Workshop Registration Opens

The Academy of the Company Theatre’s (ACT) 2017 Summer Workshop youth arts program is now open for registration to students from ages 7 through 18.  Classes are held from June 26 through July 14 on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm.  A special extended day program for teen students offering a full production show is also now available.  All programs are held at The Company Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.

ACT Summer Workshop sparks creativity and builds self-confidence through the arts in a challenging, supportive and fun environment.  Students are able to choose six classes per day from over seventy classes in the performing and visual arts.  Early registration is recommended as the program is amongst the most popular on the South Shore.

An extended day program Theatre Intensive is offered for teen students ages 14 and up.  This exploration into acting and performing hones skills for the serious student who seeks a greater challenge in theatre arts.  Theatre Intensive students perform the musical Heathers on Friday, July 14.  The performance is open to the public, tickets are $15.

Founded in 1987, ACT was established to build confidence in the performing arts in a creative, safe and supportive environment.  Students are motivated towards self-expression through progressive technique training geared to children, teens and adults.  ACT Studio One features an established teaching-artist based faculty, who educate, nurture and encourage proper technical development in voice, acting, movement and music.  The program is designed to lead students to confident, positive life experiences.

Families and friends of students are welcome to attend final performances at Arts Festival Day on Saturday, July 15 from 9 am to 4 pm.
