Winter/Spring Registration Opens for The Company Theatre’s ACT Studio One Adult Performing Arts Programs

The Academy of the Company Theatre’s (ACT) Studio One adult small group performing arts classes are open for 2017 winter/spring registration.  Classes run for two consecutive sessions for the term, from January 30 through April 18.  All programs are held at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.

The adult voice is full of possibilities! Adult Voice with Stephanie Mann is a small group voice class for singers of all stages of development and will help students align their vocal instrument with vocal technique exercises. Apply the concepts to a vast array of vocal music from art song to pop to musical theatre. Each session begins with a vocal warm up and continues to group and solo work.  Music is assigned to progress the individual towards being a healthy, capable and expressive singer. Students are encouraged to become good singer-musicians through ear training and music reading exercises. Classes are held Mondays, 7 to 8 pm, beginning January 30.

Adult Acting with Sheila Kelleher teaches students the basics of acting. Starting with a foundation of good breath and voice control, students explore physicality in character building. Utilizing improv and listening exercises, learn how to be truthful and present in the action. The class concludes with scene work to put new skills to work!  Classes are held Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, beginning January 31.

Adult Broadway Dance with Liz Tronni is for all levels! Beginning with a Broadway Jazz warm up, this class progresses across the floor and builds on a new piece of choreography each week. A fun environment to learn and strengthen your dance vocabulary and dance your heart out! Teens and drop-ins welcome!  Classes are held Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9 pm, beginning February 1.  Second session tentatively scheduled upon enrollment.
