Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, the musical of Carrie hasn’t been seen since its legendary 1988 Broadway production. Now, the show’s original authors have joined with director Stafford Arima and MCC Theater for a newly reworked and fully re-imagined vision of this gripping tale.
In the small town of Chamberlain, Maine, Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she’s an outcast who’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s at the mercy of her loving but cruelly over-protective mother. But Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it…
Performances of Carrie the Musical will be held January 20 through 22. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for students.
Rehearsals are held from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during the production season. Attendance is required the entire week during tech week. Tuition for the classes and production is $385 per student, due after the casting announcement, some scholarships are available. A $20 audition fee is applied to the tuition of those that are cast. The audition fee and completed emergency form must accompany audition candidates, available at www.companytheatre.com/emergencyform.pdf.
