The Company Theatre to Hold Open Auditions for A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol Logo 2016The award-winning Company Theatre announces non-equity open call auditions for their upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol on Sunday, September 11, 1 pm, at The Company Theatre Centre for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell, MA.   The production is directed by Zoe Bradford and Jordie Saucerman, choreographed by Sally Forrest, with music direction by Steve Rogers.

Performed biannually for the last 30 years, The Company Theatre takes pride in their fresh adaptation of each production, making A Christmas Carol a joyous South Shore holiday tradition. On Christmas Eve, three spirits visit the miserly Scrooge and whisk him away on a journey through memories of his childhood and glimpses of his future. In one haunted evening, Scrooge sees the error of his ways and repents just in time for a glorious Christmas morning. Charming storybook sets, ghostly special effects and beautiful holiday music conjure up new holiday merriment for theater-goers young and young at heart.

IMG_6602Strong singers are needed for the ensemble, and should be prepared to sing a Christmas song, carol, or hymn, and may be asked to read an excerpt in a British accent. Actors auditioning for non-singing roles need not prepare a song for audition.  Audition candidates may bring their own sheet music, and should also bring a headshot or snapshot.  A resume is helpful, but not required. Actors not available to audition in person are encouraged to submit a video audition to sally@companytheatre.com.

Rehearsal throughout the production season are held Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 pm, Sundays from 3 to 6 pm.
