The Academy of The Company Theatre to Hold Auditions for Disney’s Cinderella

CinderellaThe Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) announces auditions for youth actors ages 7 to 13  for their upcoming production of Disney’s Cinderella, on Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8, from 3:30 to 6:00 pm at The Company Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.  The production will be directed by Brendan Cawley, with music direction by Melissa Carubia and choreography by Sally Forrest.  A headshot is helpful but not required.

Actors should plan to attend both days of auditions, with the first day spent learning song selection, dance combination and a script reading. Not all audition candidates will be cast.

Disney’s Cinderella takes a mistreated servant girl, a slightly daft fairy godmother, some friendly mice, and a kind-hearted prince, thrown in with a wicked stepmother, some even more wicked stepsisters, a Royal Ball, for the perfect formula for the ultimate fairy tale! Favorite songs include “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo”. This beloved Disney favorite proves that dreams do come true!

Classes rehearsing the production are held from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during the production season, beginning September 12.  No rehearsals will be held on Columbus Day or Halloween.

An audition fee of $20 can be applied to tuition for those cast.  Tuition for the classes and production is $385 per student.  Some financial assistance is available. Tuition is due following the casting announcement.  A completed emergency form must accompany audition candidates, available upon arrival.

Performances of Disney’s Cinderella will be held Friday, November 4, 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 5 at 4 and 7 pm; and Sunday, November 6 at 1 and 4 pm. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for students.

ACT was founded in 1987 by Zoe Bradford, Michael Joseph and Jordie Saucerman, with a mission to discover the creative spirit in each child in an enjoyable and challenging atmosphere and to build self-confidence through the experience of the arts.
