REVIEW: The Company Theatre’s Legally Blonde the Musical a Delight

Legally Blonde LogoFirst came the movie, then the adaptation to the stage. Legally Blonde the Musical, an award winning musical now playing at The Company Theatre of Norwell, is a delight from beginning to end.

Elle Woods, a charming and somewhat ditsy young lady moves her way into Harvard Law School as she fights off the snobs and elite who decide she is not Harvard material.  Along with her Chihuahua, she succeeds in all her endeavors.

Orchids to Sarah Kelly, who stars as Elle Woods. Along the way we see a colorful and absolutely entertaining cast of actors who perform some amazing choreography thanks to the efforts of dance instructor Sally Ashton Forrest. Co-Directors Zoe Bradford and Jordie Saucerman should take a bow for their extraordinary work in bringing this production to the stage.

The Company Theatre of Norwell continues to amaze me with their highly successful productions. And lest I forget, congratulations to Music Director Steve Bass in his debut with this theatre company.

Legally Blonde the Musical is exactly what a happy musical is all about –  ‘so much fun it should be illegal’. Don’t miss this happy show of the summer.
