Kicking off an extraordinary year of theatrical productions, talented actors from The Academy of The Company Theatre’s (ACT) Teen Conservatory present Hair, from January 22 through 24. Acting as a bridge between generations and viewpoints, Hair joins rock music and the era’s culture in a stage phenomenon, set against the serious backdrop of the Vietnam War and a country in turmoil.

The Broadway musical rage, Avenue Q performs from February 4 through 14. This hilarious and uproarious “Sesame Street for grownups” phenomenon features part flesh (human) and part felt (puppets) telling the story of one puppets’ journey to find his purpose in life after college. A bit racy, Avenue Q contains adult language and puppet nudity. Not recommended for children under age 13, but if you bring your teenager, they’ll think you’re really cool.

From April 22 through May 1, an exciting early Broadway release brings School of Rock to our stage featuring ACT students. A brand new musical, based on the popular Jack Black movie, School of Rock tells the story of a struggling musician who unexpectedly poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. He becomes a source of rockin’ inspiration to the overscheduled students!

A surprise announcement of a spring musical, being held tightly under wraps, will be made at the Open House on November 21.  The show will play from March 18 through April 10.

The fabulously fun and award winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde the Musical performs from July 29 through August 20. Follow the transformation of Elle Woods as she charms her way into Harvard Law School and tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in the pursuit of her dreams. A Chihuahua and a Bulldog are featured in the cast. Woof, woof!

Dracula performs from October 14 through 30, straight from the pages of Bram Stoker’s novel to the pen of playwright Ted Tiller. A wonderfully eerie horror classic; bats fly, wolves howl and spectators enjoy the fun, horror and magical effects!

The Academy of the Company Theatre performs Walt Disney’s Cinderella from November 4 through 6. This beloved Disney classic proves that dreams do come true! Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!

The South Shore’s favorite holiday extravaganza A Christmas Carol returns to the stage from November 25 through December 17.
